Overview

Starting Pay: $22.66 to $29.57 DOE

 

Part-time benefited position working 40 hours per 2 per weeks, no weekend or holidays.

 

Registered Dietitian needed to assess, plan, and implement nutrition care plans of inpatients at JRMC to ensure nutrition needs are met. Will interact with patients of all ages (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics) while performing assessments. Will provide weekend coverage on a rotating weekend schedule with a team including two other dietitians; will cover a minimum of one weekend per month. Dietitian will also provide coverage during scheduled vacations for full-time dietitian as needed. Qualifications/requirements for this position include: Completion of Accredited Dietetic Internship with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics; Registered or eligible for registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration; Registered or eligible for registration with the North Dakota Board of Dietetic Practice.

 

Responsibilities

Patient Meal Delivery Services

  • Develops standards of performance for the Nutrition Services Department.
  • Evaluates the appropriateness and effectiveness of orientation, training and education activities.
  • Assists Nutrition Supervisor with staffing of department.  This may consist of interviewing, job offers, interventions, and terminations of personnel.
  • Oversees Nutrition Supervisor in designing and implementing Quality Management Programs.
  • Inspects and monitors work, storage, and servicing area of Nutrition Service Department to ensure compliance with local, State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Oversees all nutritional aspects of patient care including nutritional screening assessments, charting, interviews, and advises physicians on clinical efficacy of nutrition orders.
  • Assesses, evaluates, plans, and implements nutrition care plans of inpatients, outpatients, swingbed, and cardiac rehab in the following age groups:  infancy, childhood, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.  This care is delivered in accordance with established standards of performance.
  • Provides outpatient nutrition counseling.
  • Participates in developing policies and procedures for department.
  • Reviews department performance and institutes changes in techniques or procedures to improve services, simplify work flow, assure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote more efficient operation.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, conferences and professional affiliations.  Develops a personal plan for continuing education based on needs assessment.
  • Provide dietetic consulting services to other facilities.
  • Promotes and implements processes to ensure JRMC Corporate Compliance Plan is carried out in department policies, training, and education and monitoring activities.
  • Consistently uses AIDET communication skills with patients, guests and employees.
  • Interacts with patients of all ages (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics) while delivering patient meal trays. May also have contact with physicians and cafeteria customers.
  • Contributes to overall Nutrition Services Department and ever growing services.
  • Assures that personal behavior complies with the hospital’s Standards of Behavior at all times.

 

Qualifications/Requirements of Job Position:

  • Provides Dietitian services to Hospice/ Home Health and Cardiac/Pulmonary Departments.
  • Serves on interdisciplinary team and hospital committee’s as required.
  • Coordinates Performance Improvement projects and data collection.
  • Teaches community classes/programs (prenatal, Heart Care, Smoking Cessation, etc.).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

 

Covering/Weekend Dietician:

  • Provides Dietitian services to Hospice/ Home Health and Cardiac/Pulmonary Departments.
  • Serves on interdisciplinary team and hospital committee’s as required.
  • Coordinates Performance Improvement projects and data collection.
  • Teaches community classes/programs (prenatal, Heart Care, Smoking Cessation, etc.).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor or advanced Degree from an accredited institution with Major in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics.  Registered or Registry Eligible by the American Dietetic Association required.  Current license from the ND Board of Dietetic Practice.

 

Completion of internship approved by the American Dietetic Association. Experience in healthcare and one to two years of hospital experience beneficial.
